Tiffany Harvard
Interpretation
This is a lamp that I designed based on Tiffanys Harvard lamp. According to Dr. Neustadt in
The Lamps of Tiffany book, this lamp is 'Reputed to have been made for the library of Harvard
University'. I drew a pattern for one panel then duplicated it for all eight sides. I drew four
distinct sheilds that appear on alternating panels. The diameter is 20 inches between the parallel
sides. 95% of the lamp is constructed using Laburnum glass from the Youghiogheny Glass Company.
For the sheilds I used both Kokomo and Youghiogheny glass. The bottom brass filigree was purchased
from Whitmore Durgin. An Odyssey cap, ring, and wheel were used as mounting hardware.
